5:30pm  The Gospel Choir “Mavis and the fathers House” sings on the main stage at Middleton Hall

6.00pm Speeches wishing the festival well

6.30p Performance of 'Gasping Goldie' by Jessica Rost

8.00pm  Salsa evening in the Ramada Encore at thehub:mk (Big Moo event)

10 till 2pm  Free bookbinding workshop at artworks-mk

10 till 2pm  Free Pinhole camera workshop and arty picnic at Inter-Action MK

Sunday 13th July

10:30 am The Church of Christ the Cornerstone CMK

All are welcome to attend this non-denominational service at the city’s central church.
It will be an exceptional service to celebrate all aspects of creativity and will include dance, song, performance and participatory arts events.

As well as the congregation and traditional service, artists will include;

Ian Barker aka ‘Alex Sykie’ – poet
Desperate 2 Dance
Alison Thomas and Sally Annett – art installation with the congregation
The Church Choir
Nicky Prince – vocalist
Melted Demerara – poetry and the spoken word
Stephen Groom – music and performance
Rowena Willard Wright – senior curator English Heritage – spoken word ‘Tree of life’

There will be a communicator for the deaf for the duration of the service.

7:30pm  Close of the BMFFA event at - Margaret Powel square (outside MK Theatre) with the end of the Celebr8 lantern procession and the launch of the 2009 Milton Keynes Fringe Festival of the arts

Special Events and Performance

“The Roving Cow” : Mk cows presents the great cow hunt, find the signs, find the cows, write a poem and win a prize. This is all weekend across the city centre and is great fun for children (www.mkcows.com for more information)

The Sofa Rickshaw, one of Festive Roads spectacular carnival contraptions will be available for short rides and photo opportunities. (based at the Campbell Park entrance to John Lewis)

Everlasting cakes with Kathy Santiago will be sketching and drawing
